Aisha Salazar

Extension Agent, Family and Consumer Sciences

Aisha Salazar is the Associate Extension Agent, Family & Consumer Sciences for Virginia Cooperative Extension in Arlington County and the City of Alexandria. She oversees the Master Food Volunteers and Master Financial Education Volunteers programs and co-leads the Energy Masters program with Eco-Action Arlington. In addition, Aisha serves as a co-chair for the Arlington Healthy Community Action Team, as Vice President for Friends of Urban Agriculture, serves on the board of the DC Food Recovery Working Group, is part of the Partnership for a Healthier Alexandria steering committee, and is a member of the Fairfax Food Council.

Aisha spent the past five years managing the Cooking and Nutrition Education program at the Arlington Food Assistance Center, a large food pantry in Arlington, VA where she also served as a preceptor for nursing students and dietetic interns. She has been the Market Manager of the Fairlington Farmers Market for the past four seasons. Previously, she worked as a science educator for three years and has worked in the food and agriculture industry for several years.
